Standard Sleeper Cache - Most interesting content in Eve
by Ryokin
Wow. Color me impressed, but I never thought that I would find content anywhere near as curiosity inducing, time-stressing, adventurous, and mysterious in New Eden. In the middle of randomly scouting around in high-sec I located a Standard Sleeper Cache right in my home system. I had to pull out my Buzzard to get it pinpointed, and to unlock the initial gate (I had found one before, and upon failing the first hack, was locked out entirely, piquing my interest all the more).
Upon entry I was mesmerized by the complexity of the layout. I watched a video summarizing what was going on, but even with a guide I was still a fish out of water. My Relic skills are only level 4 at this point, which was a HUGE detriment to working this site, and even with T2 data analyzers, I found the lack of additional hacking bonuses on my Tengu to be severely hampering. I worked through the site a bit, gathering almost 50m in loot, when I triggered a site-wide damage cloud that forced even my massively overtanked Tengu to warp out (I have yet to encounter an L4 that can touch it). Upon returning, I entered the ‘secret loot site’ and failed my first attempt to get loot. I ran over to the timer to reset, and failed that hack, causing all 5 extra loot containers to pop. I was so sad, but at the same time fascinated at the complexity. Next time I want to have an ally working the reset while I work loot (or vice-versa). I don’t see a good way to work these sites without two people honestly (Not without risking losing almost all the cans).
Well done CCP! My hat is off to you, and my implants too.
